Атлет, придя на тренировку, не хватается за штангу
без разминки. Так же и учащимся нужен настрой на определенный тип работы. А
особенно если работа касается иностранного языка.
Существует процедура введения в иноязычную
атмосферу. К сожалению, большинство учителей ограничиваются приветствием,
сверкой отсутствующих и поиском дежурных. А ведь существует множество приемов,
форм и методов работы, способных привлечь ученика к активной познавательной
деятельности.
Среди них –
логические задачи.
1.
Can you believe in the legend? A teacher tells his students a legend: “Long ago
there was a man who swam across the wide river three times every morning”. One
of the pupils says that he can’t believe it. Why? Give your opinions.
Key:
Actually, the man could swim across the river two or four times in order to
take his clothes which he had left on the bank of the river.

What will be the score? “This young man is going to foretell the score of any
football match before it starts”. What is the secret of his prophecy?
Key:
You can do such predictions too. The score of any match before it begins is
0-0.

How could it happen? Ann tells: “Yesterday my Grandpa went for a walk. He was
far from home when a heavy rain began. The grandfather had neither a raincoat
nor an umbrella. He didn’t have a hat too. In an hour he came back. None of his
hair was wet.” How could it happen?

The grandfather is bold-headed.

How did she guess? A woman caught a taxi, told the driver her address, sat into
the car and began to chat. She was talking her head off. The driver thought
she’d never stop talking. Soon he lost his temper. He said: “Excuse me, madam.
You needn’t talk to me. I’m deaf and today I’ve forgotten my otophone at home.”
The driver was happy when the woman fell silent. When she left the taxi near
her house and the car went away, the woman suddenly understood that the driver
hadn’t been deaf. How did she guess that the drive had told lies?
Key:
If the driver was deaf, he couldn’t hear the address the woman had told him.
