Past Simple Tense ( минулий простий час) використовуємо для
опису подій, які відбувалися у минулому.
У реченнях часто зустрічаються такі слова, як: yesterday (вчора), the day
before yesterday (позавчора), last (минулого), ago (тому),
in 2004 (у 2004), in the
past (у минулому), the other day (на
днях), on Monday (у понеділок), just now (щойно).
У розповідному реченні у Past Simple
Tense всі дієслова поділяються на дві групи: правильні та неправильні (Урок 60).
Тож до правильного дієслова додаємо закінчення – ed (liked, walked,washed), неправильне
дієслово беремо у ІІ формі (went – II форма від go, got – ІІ форма від
get). Неправильні дієслова зібрані у таблиці неправильних
дієслів, їх форми потрібно вивчати напам'ять (підказка: варто вчити одразу
три форми слова, хоча третя вам поки що не потрібна).
У заперечному і питальному реченнях у Past Simple Tense використовується допоміжне дієслово did. У заперечному
реченні воно ставиться між підметом і присудком (I did not go / I didn’t go), у питальному – перед підметом. Зверніть увагу:
дієслово-присудок у заперечному і питальному реченнях не змінюється (I didn’t go to the cinema yesterday. Did you clean your room last Tuesday?)

1. Прочитайте, перекладіть та порівняйте два тексти,
звертаючи увагу виділені дієслова (Present / Past Simple Tense) (впр.1,
ст.114).
